Description
R.I. Bach is a Russian sculptor, a graduate of the Russian Academy of Arts, the father of academicians of sculpture N.R. and R.R. Bach. He was the chief artist of the bronze foundry of R.Ya. Kohun and the trade company "Nichols and Plinke" in St. Petersburg. He specialized in the field of plastics of small forms and decorative and applied art. The bust "Summer" was made in 1860 for the factory of R.Ya. Kohun. It is paired with the bust of R.I.Bach "Spring". An allegory of summer in the image of a young woman with a garland of roses and pearl threads in her hair, her head bowed to her left shoulder The Kasli plant has been casting a bust since 1896.
